Grilled Calamari with Australian Native Herbs

A simple Grilled Calamari recipe perfect for the outdoor eating season. The unique Australian Ranch Hand Foods 'Life's A Beach' native herb rub gives a beautiful uplifting flavour to the calamari. It was recently featured in the 'Spring Harvest' Discovery Box. grilled calamari
Grilled Calamari with Australian Native Herbs
  • 750g Calamari
  • 1-2 TB Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Heaped TB of Rand Hand Foods 'Life’s A Beach' herb rub
  • Sea Salt
  • 1 Lemon or Lime (to serve)
Method: Trim & clean calamari (or ask your fishmonger to do this for you), separate the tube and tentacles, score the skin of the tubes if desired and cut into smaller pieces. Place in a bowl and cover with a little olive oil and the 'Life’s A Beach' rub. Marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes. Cook on a hot grill for a minute or two on each side. The cooking time will depend on the thickness of the calamari. To serve, season with salt and finish with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a squeeze of lime or lemon. Serve immediately.
